Duties of the Diaconate

The main duty of the Diaconate Team on Sunday is to serve the needs of the church—Pastor Barry, Pastor Richard and those in attendance.

First Service 8:15

• Arrive by 7:45am (park at Page Elem. School)
• Greet at main doors (2)
• Pass out bulletins (2)
• Ushers inside sanctuary (2)
• Clean up Sanctuary row by row (2)
• Call to Worship- close doors

Communion

• Serve communion after praise set (8)
• Remain in back of sanctuary until after communion message and prayer
• Serve communion to the nursery

Offering

• Circulate offering trays (8)
• Gather prayer request cards and give to Prayer Leader

Children’s Moment

• Head count of children as they leave

End of Service

• Open sanctuary doors
• Open doors to sides of sanctuary (2)

Second Service 9:45

• Greet at main doors (2)
• Pass out bulletins (2)
• Ushers inside sanctuary (2)
• Clean up Sanctuary row by row (2)
• Call to Worship- close doors

Offering

• Circulate offering trays (8)
• Remain in back of sanctuary until after communion message and prayer
• Gather prayer request cards and give to Pastor Barry

Communion

• Serve communion after sermon (8)
• Remain in back of sanctuary until after communion message and prayer
• Serve communion to the nursery

End of Service

• Open sanctuary doors when service is finished
• Open side doors for exiting (2)
• Clear entry way and encourage people to visit in the fellowship hall

• Close accordion screens as necessary for noise reduction

Third Service 11:15

• Greet at main doors (2)
• Pass out bulletins (2)
• Ushers inside sanctuary (2)
• Clean up Sanctuary row by row (2)
• Call to Worship- close doors

Communion

• Serve communion after songs/meditation (8)
• Remain in back of sanctuary until after
  communion message and prayer
• Serve communion to the nursery

Offering

• Circulate offering trays (4 or 8)
• Gather prayer request cards and give to Pastor Paul

Children’s Moment

• Head count of children as they leave
